Well here we are back again (for the last time) and this is it the big one a final major project.
I have 2 ideas in my mind for what I want to do, they are both really different I will just outline them now (more information will be in the pitch)
1st idea: my first idea is an instillation of a room with TV screens or projectors showing a continuous animation of people standing in a room with there “rags” on then they then start pulling off there clothes to clothes that they would want to wear as if they were going out. and they would wipe there hands over their face and there hair would be perfect and if they are a girl there make up would be done. After talking to Paul he said to look at Margi Geerlinks her photography is kinda of the style I like with people making themselves look younger:
another influence would be the Michael Jackson video to “black or white” its the scene at the end with all the people changing into other people :
Heres a little animation I did for my idea:
The idea
Idea 2: this is a sit-com I have been working on for 2 years with a friend of mine the script is still in the writing stage and is all im willing to say so far apart from its based in halls of residence of a unversity, and follows the exploits of one flat and in particular one flatmate. it would become part of a series that has diffferent situations the flat are in. I chose for it to be set in a student flat because it was something familiar to me and I could draw from my experiences when writing it.
The influences on the script are:
The Office (2001-2003):
The script draw from the office in that it is in a mockumentary style and follows the one character who is not always someone you like but thinks he is.
Family Guy (1999-present):
The script is influenced by Family guy in that there are flash backs and random cuts to scenes that explain what was said in the other scene before it. its something that I think helps drive the comedy.
Spaced (1999-2001):
The Spaced influence is in that there is references to films in the text.
I think the target audience for the piece would be students because they could relate to the situations but it could also be for older viewers who never attended unversity they would like to see what a student flat is like, or even have been students themselves for the nostalgia for it.
